Professional Engineer #21263 1999

Experience

I have over 25 years of experience specializing in transportation, site planning and design, stormwater management, water and wastewater infrastructure, and municipal operations and management.  I have worked in both the private sector as well as public service in a government setting.

After completing my bachelor’s degree, I joined a firm in Frankfort, Kentucky where I honed my skills in water/wastewater treatment plant design, distribution modeling and design, and wastewater collection design.  In 1998, I returned to my hometown of Somerset to join the highway design team at the District 8 Office of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.  I served 8 years as a highway design engineer where I designed and managed numerous highway and drainage projects of all sizes.

In 2006, I took this experience to the City of Somerset where I served as the City Engineer for 12 years.  With the City, I was heavily involved in water, wastewater, natural gas and stormwater utility management at all levels including design, maintenance and construction.  I reviewed and approved all site development plans and was instrumental in revising many of the City ordinances concerning utilities and development. I managed the City’s Stormwater Program (MS4) including review and inspection of construction site erosion prevention plans.  Working with utility managers and employees, we completely integrated the City’s utility information into a complete GIS database system as well as a web based application for public use.

Since 2012, I have used my diverse career experiences through AGT Engineering to help developers and public utility clients to find practical and economical solutions to their engineering needs.  My experiences in the private and public sector have given me a unique understanding of project management that I am fortunate to have.  This experience helps me to deliver projects that not only meet the needs of my clients, but gain approvals with the least amount of revisions and resubmittals.  This saves everyone time and money.
